Our May 9th gathering will feature a wicked list of Ableton Live ninjas and performers.

Ableton Advanced Users Meetup Thursday May 9th Presenters:
A sound designer, music technologist, composer and acclaimed violinist, Laura will demonstrate her live setup, including customized Livid OHM RGB with LED lights, PUSH, Wii Controller and custom live looping scripts and effect racks. Laura is the owner and founder of Electronic Creatives, an Ableton Certified Training Center that designs shows for numerous A-list tours. Her recent highlights include playing violin on Kanye and Jay-Z’s Watch The Throne album.
A software artist, musician, and psychologist; Adam will show off some clever patches to control Live using a Kinect or iPhone. He designs interactive art and his music project RUWA has been featured by Ableton and Cycling74. Adam will be giving away a free Max for Live device so you can try out some cool things on your own after his presentation [!].
A songwriter/producer known in the Ableton community for his unique instrument racks and tutorials, AfroDJMac will lead a discussion on how to quickly program drum beats, variations of those beats, and how to add fills within a live performance. He will cover different techniques within Ableton, controller implementation, and some free and useful tools to help accomplish this. AfroDJMac will be releasing a special free Ableton Pack to coincide with the presentation [!].
Dana Schechter AKA Insect Ark
Using Ableton Live and the APC40, Dana specializes in bridging the gap between electronic and analog music creation in a live setting using a variety of analog guitar pedals, electric bass guitar and lap steel guitar along with Ableton-driven VST’s, synths, effects and drum programming while relying heavily on live looping. She will demonstrate how to customize an electronic-analog setup and give tips for streamlining the process between writing and preparing for gigs.
Juan Larios AKA Barber Sonora
An electronic musician and audio visual creator, Juan will share his audiovisual setup for live performances using Ableton Live and Resolume Avenue on the same computer. A native of Mexico City, Juan is also an avid graphic designer and DJ, who specializes in electronic/tropical/latin/tech house sounds.
DJ Phil Painson
A recording engineer, mix engineer, producer, writer, DJ and educator, Phil will be laying down the soundtrack for the night providing sounds from the underground.
